Legally united

Eloping no longer means “running away from furious and disapproving parents in the dead of night in order to get hitched,” and instead just means “small wedding”, "wedding that is not financially insane" or "wedding that allows us to not invite all the people we would rather not invite". The Changing Meaning of 'Elope'

Initially we I intended to get hitched 'elopement' style, no reception. Simple 5-minute ceremony with an officiate, a photographer and two legal witnesses: vows recited, form signed, photos taken, case closed. Done and over with. Well, ended up I was soon pressured into agreeing on having a reception 6 months later in Malaysia, so the 'elopement' was more like... registration of marriage. 😅
